Greer Weekend

I don't remember the last time an entire week passed in between blog posts. But, I'm back and I've got lots of pictures to make up for it! This past weekend we were up at the lake with the Greer family. It was fantastic! I feel so lucky to be a part of an extended family that, even though we're scattered from one end of the country to the other, still gets together twice a year to catch up. I hope that through example, my children will understand that there is nothing more important that family!

Peek-eee-boo! (I know it's technically peek-a-boo, but Amelia says peek-eee-boo and it's awfully cute!)

Hanging out on the hammock. I love, love, love these two!

Uncle Peter brought some jokes to entertain people with and Graham thought the can with snakes was the funniest thing he had ever seen!

Uncle Peter and Amelia-she FINALLY let him hold her!

One of our many feasts-Graham was a bit confused because earlier in the day, he was entertained by a dozen live lobsters....

Return of the Pressure Washer

Last summer, Graham decided that he loved pressure washers. He was lucky enough to receive a toy pressure washer for Christmas-who knew they even made such a thing? Up until a few days ago, Graham was content to play with it inside the house without water. Things changed though when he realized that he could hook a hose up to and have a functional tool. Life is good for a 3 year old boy with his very own pressure washer!

While Graham washed the deck, Amelia was on the other side of the yard getting all her ducks in a row.

Success!

I'm pleased to report that Miss Amelia was the perfect little flower girl. At both the rehearsal and ceremony, Amelia walked slowly and confidently down the aisle. She took her job very seriously and didn't crack many smiles, but she accomplished her mission! Amelia carried a basket filled with rose petals that she was supposed to scatter down the aisle. While she and I practiced, she would put the petals on the ground, then then turn around and pick them up saying "dirty". My girl likes things neat and tidy! I tried to tell her that it was ok to leave the petals behind and that they actually looked pretty, but she just wasn't buying it. So, Amelia and a full basket of petals arrived in the front of the church.

I was so proud of Amelia yesterday and got a little choked up watching her. At so many weddings, I would enviously look at the mother of the flower girl-doting on her to make sure everything was just "so" for her walk down the aisle and yesterday, I got to be that Mommy! Thank you Krista and Mark for including Amelia in your special day!

Getting ready for the ceremony. Like I said, it was VERY tough to get Amelia to smile.

RUNNING down the aisle. Apparently, she had some extra energy to burn off after group pictures!

One last pep talk before Amelia's big walk

Just getting started walking down the aisle during the wedding

And yes, Graham was there too!

Two very tired kids. And no, this isn't at the end of a long day. This is leaving the wedding for the reception!

Dressed for Dinner

Just another evening of getting dressed up for dinner!

Tomorrow is Amelia's flower girl debut...Wish me luck as I work to coax my shy girl down an aisle of strangers watching her! :)

Celebrating the 4th of July

We spent a long weekend up at the lake celebrating the 4th of July and we had a fantastic time! Since a picture is worth a 1000 words, here are lots of pictures, and very few words. Enjoy!

Nothing is better than a cold treat on a hot day!

Our girl really knows how to enjoy a fudgesicle!

Being silly with an Elmo sprinkler and a kiddie pool
Amelia and Daddy relaxing on the tube

Trying out the tube...Graham was trying to decide if he wanted to just float around in the water or be pulled behind the boat. Graham was brave and decided to go for a ride!

Graham and I on the tube-Graham's very first time! What a brave little guy we have!

These two love each other sooo much!

A rare picture of the four of us. The kids were tired of the life jackets at this point, so they certainly don't look thrilled. But, like I said, we're all here!
