Octopus!
In the past day or so, Amelia has decided that she LOVES a book about octopus. She pages through it at least 50 times a day and yesterday she even learned how to pronounce 'octopus'. 24 hours ago, we could almost understand what she was trying to say and now today, she's pretty close to actually getting it right! Not too bad for 19 months old! Now, if I could only figure out where her love of this ugly sea creature comes from.... strange animal or not, I think it's so cute the way she enunciates in this video, enjoy :)

Daddy's Girl
Jeff recently rediscovered a photo album he made for me as a gift early in our marriage. Graham and Amelia have paged through it countless times, and each time, they express their amazement that their parents are on each and every page of the book. When I stop to think about it, I'm not sure that prior to this, they've seen an actual photo album. We used to store our photos neatly labeled in books, but now everything is stored neatly organized on a hard drive. In this video, you can hear Amelia's pure joy and excitement that Daddy is everywhere in this book!

Our Birthday Boy
had a very busy past few days because yesterday, Graham celebrated his 3rd birthday! I honestly have no idea where the time has gone. My memories of arriving home with Graham are truly as vivid as if our journey just happened yesterday. This is the first year that Graham really understood that having his birthday meant that it was his special day, and he surely made the best of it! Graham's day started with breakfast in bed. Actually, it was breakfast in our bed while he got to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on tv.

Early Morning Dance Party
When I look at these pictures of their genuine smiles and ability to have fun with even the most simple activity, I'm almost in awe of my little family. It really wasn't that long ago that we traveled to the other side of the world to bring each of them home and although they each processed their big move differently, they were both understandably and visibly terrified. Now, here we are today, and I have two happy, healthy, well adjusted kids. How did we ever get so lucky!?!

Keeping Busy!
I'm glad the kids liked it, because to be completely honest, we almost didn't make it. We, actually they, are having problems lately in the car. The kids can't keep their hands off of each other. EVER. They love to tease, taunt, and torment each other when they know I can't do much about it. It got so bad today on the way to the gym that I told them we were going home if they couldn't leave each other alone. Despite the backseat full of toys and books, apparently the best entertainment is making your sibling screech like a jungle animal. It's making me CrAzY! Other than living like the Partridge Family and commuting in a very large bus so they can't possibly touch each other or never leaving the house like hermits, I'm at a loss but am VERY open to suggestions! HELP!

An invitation and a phone...
One last picture for the day...Amelia spends a good amount of her life carrying around an old cell phone. She has that thing practically attached to her head and can be heard occasionally erupting into an enthusiastic "Hello!" followed by a conversation between her and her "friend" that nobody can understand. I am very aware that children learn from example and mimic what they see, so I guess I should be the first to admit that I love my phone. :)

The Three Billy Goats Gruff
Next time they play this game I'm going to try and get it on video. Amelia always has the voice of the baby goat as he moves across the bridge, and Graham loves to be the troll telling each goat, several times mind you, that he's going to eat them!
